Always Have a Plan on The Soccer Field

by Juan
(Bolivia)

One thing that I have learned during my soccer career is that you should always know what to do with the ball regardless on which position you are playing at. This is crucial in games with high tempo where you have very little time to do something useful with the ball. One good example is when you are receiving the ball under pressure. There is simply no time for you to first receive, put the ball under control and then start to look for your teammates.

With other words, you need to know exactly what to do before the ball has even landed on your feet. The sooner you start to adapt this way of playing, the faster you will be able to adapt yourself to this new style of thinking on the soccer field. This is why professional soccer players are so good.

They have a thought behind every decision which is why it looks so simple when they are playing. Some researched have shown that soccer is 85% about planning and making right decisions while 15% is fitness abilities. So, my advice to you is to always plan your next move.
