Centre Midfield

by Anonymous

To be a good central midfielder and an integral part of a team, you should focus on either defensive or attacking duties. Following are explanations on what you need to pose in order to succeed as central midfielder:

Defensive Duties - This includes winning headers from kick outs, breaking down attacks, tackling hard and upsetting the other teams rhythm. To carry out these duties a player needs to be brave and pose great fitness abilities which mean that you need to be prepared to work extra hard when other teammates are struggling. Also, being a natural leader will not harm you reputation either, instead you will gain respect among your opponents which could lead to improved performance.

Attacking Duties - This involves playing through balls to attackers. To carry out this role a player needs good ball skills, an ability to dribble and a shot. You will have a lot of pressure on your shoulders because you need to figure out how to beat your opponent’s defense. If your team fails to succeed in their attacks, you will usually be one of the responsible. Simply, you must perform well game after game in order to maintain your status.
