Club trouble

by Alex Eaton
(England)

I'm at the English league 1 side MK Dons in their development centre. I have been trying for years to get into the academy but whatever I do they just keep saying I’m missing it by a tiny fraction.

I want to look for a new professional club that will help me with my football career. Can you recommend any clubs that are English, professional and have got goalkeeper coaches that know what they are doing?

THE ANSWER

Hello Alex, I am sorry but I can’t recommend any such clubs because I do not have such contacts. However, I know several friends that called the professional clubs (e.g. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool) and simply asked to participate in their tryouts. That could be an option for you as well.

As you are only 13 years old of age, I think that you have a lot of time to become professional. You may also want to check out my book about different positions in soccer. I think that you would find the keeper part very interesting. I wish you all the best with your soccer career, and who knows, you may be the next Chelsea or Gunners keeper.
