Defensive Soccer Midfielder's From Set Plays

Ideally, the defensive midfielder should have accurate passing and long ball abilities. This be said, distance shooting is also a very useful ability; as the defensive midfielder doesn't spend a lot of time attacking and if to shoot may do so from distance.

In my opinion set plays make this a brilliant attribute. For corners: the defensive mid should sit behind the D out with the box, most headers from good corners won’t make it further than this and may give you time to control the ball before a shot is made at goal or make an ambitious half volley or volley.

An advantage of this is that the goalkeepers view will be blocked by the vast amount of players in his box and may give you time to place a shot with little power (making it more accurate).
For free kicks: During free kicks there is usually a large gap between the box and your defenders at the half way. The same applies as above but you may need to sit more deep.
