Fast Ball Receiving

by Rosemary Keelin
(Buffalo MN united states)

Here is a cool soccer trick that I want to share with you. The thing is that during the games I am usually guarded pretty heavily because I’m overweight and it will be easy to get the ball from me. However, to prevent opponents stealing the ball from me I fake them out.

Here is what I do; I simply pretend that I am not going to run and just when the opponents hugs for the ball I bolt and block them with my elbows. Once the ball is safe and under control I finish with a shot or pass to one of my teammates.

Of course, you may use this tip whether you are overweighed or not but it works very well for me and the opponents are rarely able to get a feet on the ball. Also, have a plan before you receive the ball because this will give you more time and an advantage on the opponents.

This is especially important if you are playing as central midfielder or strikers as the press is usually pretty heavy on those positions. So, these are my 2 cents and I hope you’ll find them useful.
