Go for The Goal Drill

Here is a soccer drill that you can use in order to improve your players speed and shooting accuracy. I like to involve this drill as a part of my shooting and running sessions as I believe it is developing my players while allowing them to have fun and compete against each others.

Simply, tell your players to form two lines on each side of where you are standing. You should be placed about about twenty yards from the goal. Kick the ball toward the goal (about half the distance) while each player takes a turn (alternating from each line) racing to the ball and shooting. This drill may be played with or without a goalie, and is designed to teach a good first touch on the ball and proper soccer shooting technique.

Sometimes, coaches may elect to have a player from each line compete against one another to win the ball and shoot. Make sure to let the players perform this drill slowly in the beginning and once they get comfortable increase the intensity of it. However, make sure that you are not using too often during your practices as players can easily get bored if they are performing same drills over and over again.
