How I learned The Rainbow

by Haziq

The Rainbow

The Rainbow

The rainbow is a trick that you can use to beat a defender, goalie, or impress your friends! It starts out partially behind your body and goes over your head and your opponent's head! To do the basic rainbow you need a ball, space, and good attitude and confidence. Optionally, you can have an obstacle in front of you.

To start out, place your weak foot sideways and trap the ball with your strong foot. For example, if you are right footed, place your left foot behind the ball and pointing west and your right foot trapping the ball pointing north. Or, if you are left footed, place your right foot behind the ball and pointing east, and your left foot trapping the ball pointing north.

After this step, lean forward and make your weak foot drag the ball several inches up the back of your leg. Finally, heel kick the ball upwards and watch it go over your head! Try to do all three steps in a quick, clean, smooth motion.

Remember, practice makes perfect. Practice this for 10-30 minutes a day and you should have it perfected in less than a week. In order to be the best, you must learn from the best. Watching videos of the rainbow will quicken the learning process and seek out miniscule defects.
Good luck!!!
