The Amount of Leather Panels on a Soccer Ball

A regular everyday soccer ball has 32 leather panels. Twenty of these leather panels are regular hexagons, while the other 12 leather panels are pentagons.

And this being because the soccer ball needs to roll around evenly and if they were all the same the ball couldn’t do that.

Official Ball

Official game balls must weigh between 410 and 450 grams. A regular soccer ball has a mass of 0.43 kg which leaves foot of the kicker with an initial speed of 25 m/s.

Its weight at the beginning of the game is 14 to 18 oz, and the inflation pressure is 12 to 13 lb.

When choosing a soccer ball to buy, it is important that you spin it up in the air and watch it to see whether or not it shakes.

Ancient Era

If it remains spinning evenly then it is a good ball as it isn’t out of shape. Beings that the memories of the field game, soccer can be remembered back to ancient era.

It’s real clear that the game balls used in those days were pretty much homemade out of the materials that could be commonly used every day.

The ones that used small rubber balls were the Aztecs. They had made sure the soccer balls were bouncy enough for their soccer games.

The warriors of china would regularly play a game with no soccer rules involved using sewn up leather balls stuffed with materials that were very light in weight.

But just thinking of times way back then you could almost be sure that a leather paneled ball was a waste!

Back then, instead of using leather for a childish game, it could be used for making clothing or other helpful things that was more important.

The type of soccer ball that were very regularly used in the ancient times were mostly animal bladder material made.

They got their material from the pig that they had stripped down and eaten.

When the balls were made out of pig’s bladder they were short lived because the balls were so thin and they couldn’t handle much game so they didn’t last long.

Development

If the sport didn’t approve then everyone would play with balloons like we used to a long time ago (imagine learning soccer skills like kicking and heading with a baloon)!

When someone mentioned that we didn’t have to kick around a stuffed ball then we could just about know that we could be having the start of something new and totally different.
