how to improve my goalscoring frequency and confidence on the field

by Michael Indeku
(Nairobi, Kenya)

Hi, I'm Mike from Kenya in Africa and dream of playing for Liverpool or Arsenal how can I get them to notice me, also I want to start playing as a striker, how do I improve my goal scoring frequency and confidence in front of goal also how not to panic!

THE ANSWER

Hello Mike, you have pretty ambitious dreams and it is completely right to aim for the highest level. However, I must warn you, reaching the top level clubs is only made by few players and you should also keep in mind that soccer is the world’s biggest sport which means that you are facing a lot of skillful players that are having the same dream like you.

So, you want to play striker. Well, first of all, in order to succeed on this position, you need to know how to score goals which means that you need to think like a striker. So, what does it means to think like a striker? Well, you should be able to smell when a goal scoring opportunity is approaching.

Also, when you are near the 18 yard box, you should be able to finish the attack with an accurate one touch. I am discussing the striker position and the goal scoring secrets more closely in my soccer positions e-book.

When it comes to the panic, I suppose you are meaning the panic when you find yourself in a goal scoring opportunity. Well, the most important thing is to avoid thinking too much about what you should do. Generally, the more you reflect over the situation the less chance to score a goal.

Wish you all the best /Mirsad
