How to Start Playing Soccer?

Hi Mirsad, I am 17 years old and want to start learning soccer. I have tried to dribble but I often use too much force and the ball goes off. Is there anything I need to do?

THE ANSWER

Well, the best thing you can do is to join a local team. Is there any available near you? Learning soccer requires a lot of time and you can’t do it in only few weeks. Depending on how skillful you want to be, I would say that you will need to practice at least 2-3 years before you can see some really good results.

But again, if you have natural talent then you can do this faster, but as I said, I have never seen you play and even if I had, it would be very hard to decide. So, my advice to you is to join a local team, start to practice on your own at least 1 hour per day (only with the ball, no fitness) and monitor your result.

This should help you a good bit on the way. I am also working on a product that will help people learn how to play soccer. Make sure to sign up for the newsletter as I will send a notification once it is online.
