Important Soccer Heading Points

by Mike

Soccer Heading Points You Should Keep in Mind
To become good at heading in soccer you need to be unafraid and also prepared to sacrifice you sometimes. Heading is not just about getting a touch on the ball, it is much more than that. You need to head the ball with power, accuracy and determination. I’ve also learned that you should always keep your eyes open when heading the ball (no matter what).

When facing your opponents in heading duels you should always try to jump first. This will give you an advantage and hopefully a bigger chance to win your duel. You don’t need to be tall in order to become a heading master. Instead, you need to have courage and be prepared that sometimes it may hurt to go up for a heading duel.

Don’t hide yourself for the ball; you will just make fun of yourself. I’ve seen many players that do everything they can just to avoid heading that piece of leather (and it looks pretty funny when they are doing it).

Another thing I’ve learned the hard way is that you should always try to head the ball with your forehead. If you use some other part of your head you will probably get an unpleasant headache

Here is a summary of my post:

• Be unafraid
• Strike the ball first
• Jump early
• Use your forehead
• Don’t hide

If you stick to these points I am sure that you will be able to master the art of heading. /Mike
