Long time, no play. What should I do?

by Michaela

It’s been two years since I played soccer and now I really want to get back into it. I was a goalkeeper before and I was just wondering what I could do to practice to become better. I want to try out for my school team so I know I am going to need a lot of training. What should I do? Thank you.

THE ANSWER

Hello Michaela, the best thing is to join a soccer team and start to practice regularly. Yes, you can always practice on your own but it will be hard as if you want to become a skillful goalkeeper you need to save shots and if you have no one to practice with then…

It is easier for players as they can practice on different soccer moves, shots, juggling on their own. However, in your case you need a mate that you can actually practice with.

So, my recommendation is to find a soccer team near you as quickly as possible and join their regular practice. If you have big plans with your soccer career then joining a regular soccer team is simply a must!
