Low Shots During The Soccer Games

by Jordan
(Canada)

Hello, I just started playing soccer again after 8 years of playing other sports. The first thing I noticed about the soccer when I came back was that people often try to shoot the ball high on net. It looks better to score on a nice high curving shot but I always try to remember that there are no pictures on the scoreboard, only numbers.

What I mean by that is, a goal is a goal. Next time you have an opening for a shot on net, drive it low and hard so that the goalie has to dive down to get it. I have had much success with this technique, especially on close range shots. You see, saving low range shot is more harder for the keepers as they need to dive low which requires more time comparing to diving higher.

So, next time you find yourself near the opponent’s goal and wondering whether you should aim higher or lower, I suggest you to send the ball low and as near the post as possible. If you do things right, you will be able to celebrate another scored goal!
