Here is a simple drill that will improve your receiving and turning skill. This drill does not require any equipment but it has to be performed in groups of three. One thing you should keep in mind is to always perform maximum during the drills. The reason is that drills are aimed to simulate real game situation and that’s why you need to perform the seriously and on the same like if you were playing a game.
Here is how to perform the Man-Ups Drill
Have a man with a ball ready to pass to another player, who is being shadowed by another. Have the passer tell the receiving player either to turn, or challenge his defender once he receives and put the ball under control.
You may vary this drill by allowing the marking player to clear the ball away if the receiving player fails to get control on it. Also, you can also have the receiving player finish at the goal when he gets around the defender.
