My opinion on football training

by Lewis Lam
(Hong Kong)

I played soccer for over 10 years, and I am now teaching my 9 years old kid to play. Coaching youth is a very important issue and we all have to pay attention on it. However, I found some strange conditions here as most of the kid like to spend most of their time on shooting ONLY.

Don't forget the fundamentals of soccer: passing, controlling, moving, tactics...and FUN! My point of view is if you would like to become a good player, you have to start training on both right and left foot and have a good foundation on the basic soccer skills.

Thanks for this web site, it helps me a lot!
