Neck Stall

by Majid
(Kuwait)

Hey Mirsad, You know when you do the neck stall, how much must you put your head up to support the ball in order for it not to fall. Like could you tell me how much I should put my head up like: fully, straight forward, looking down etc.

Thanks, Majid

THE ANSWER

Hello Majid, generally you should pull up your shoulders so that they are creating a hole where the ball will land. Also, by looking up in the sky as my as possible will also help you create a more stable position that will make it easier to catch the ball.

Another thing you should keep in mind is to keep the ball low as possible. You see, the more you kick the ball into the air, the more power it will get once it is on its way back which will make it harder to catch. A general rules is to never kick the ball higher than 1 yard.

Plus, don’t either add any swerve on it as the more swerve you add the more it will spin and also catching it will be pretty difficult. I am explaining this skill in my video How To Play Soccer which will be released in few months. Make sure to sign up for my newsletter to get and notification once it is available.
