Nervous on The Soccer Field

by Mario
(Houston,Tx)

Sometimes I’m playing soccer with other people and I tend to get nervous on what to do when the ball comes. Can you help me by telling me how to not get nervous?

THE ANSWER

Hello Mario, being nervous on the soccer field is just normal, as long as it not affect your game negatively. The best thing you can do is to relax and tell yourself that you are having fun and enjoying the game. The more you treat soccer like a war where you need to do everything you can to survive, the harder it will be for you to get rid of your dilemma.

Believe me, I know how you feel as I was in the same boat like you when I started to play soccer. However, once I realized that once I decided to have fun and stopped worrying about what to do with the ball or lose it to the opponents, my game become more efficient and I started to score goals as well. In other words, you need to stop worrying and just play your game cause if you don’t you’ll never be able to get rid of your problem.
