Playing on Various Positions.

by Pablo
(Brazil, Rio)

Many soccer players do not like to play on other positions beside the one they use to play on. I was like these players until I was forced to move down from forward to fullback. I was very angry at the coach and I was considering quitting the team. However, the coach convinced me to at least give it a try and I thought that I do not have anything to lose.

So, I made my first game as fullback and the things turned out very well. First of all, I used my speed as forward to catch up the opponents and steal the ball from them. Second, I was very strong as well and this helped me to win a lot of duels.Third and most important thing was that I could jump pretty high.

After the game was over I was voted for the man of the match and as people say, the rest is history. It was 10 years ago since I played forward and shifting to fullback was the best thing I have done in my whole soccer career. So, to all of you that are unsure whether they should try a new position or not, I recommend to do it. Who knows, maybe you even manage to become pro if you are actually play on your ultimate position.
