Short sweeper in training!
Hi I am 14 years old. I haven’t been playing soccer for that long yet I made it on a higher league of a team after only one season of playing. But every single game we lose I just criticize myself too much. I blame myself on the whole game. I am the shortest on my team and I play sweeper.
I have good defensive skills and I do have love for the game but my kick is not powerful enough for the fields that I am playing with. How do I get my kick to be stronger? I also should run faster. My aim is not too well sometimes too. But I am a good dribbler so next season I m trying out for forward (my favorite position) because my coach thinks I can. I am an ok runner but I should improve if I am going to play sweeper and I should have a much stronger kick. Can you give me techniques on how to strengthen my kick?
THE ANSWER
Hello, well, first of all, stop blaming yourself when your team lose a game. Remember that there are 10 more players (beside you) on the field which means that all of you are equally responsible. Trust me, negative thinking will affect your game drastically and you will perform much more poorly then if you would do when thinking positively.
I don’t know if you have checked out my
soccer positions book but in there I am explaining how to succeed and all the secrets behind every position. Anyway, I have wrote an article on how to strengthen your kick and if you practice on the points illustrated there I can guarantee you that you’ll soon notice an improvement in your kick.
