Should I play soccer?
Ok so I’ve done cross country since I was in 6th grade. I’m not in 9th and realizing its most definitely not my sport. I really always wanted to play soccer and my younger sister plays it, but I feel as if I shouldn’t join because I haven’t ever played before.
All of the other girls on the team have been playing there whole lives. I feel the need to play a sport, and I love sports, but I haven’t yet found one that I’m good at. Can I have your opinion? Thanks
THE ANSWER
Well, I can tell you directly that it doesn’t matter whether you have played soccer before or just started to learn how to play soccer. I was in the same situation like you once I started to play soccer. The other guys had played for several years while I was a complete rookie. So what did I do? Well, I started to practice harder and more often.
As I become more skillful I noticed that I was actually better then few of the guys and after a while I also become one of the best player in my team. As you have been doing cross country, I believe you have an advantage as you can practice in any whether because the cross country is a pretty demanding sport and you will be prepared to work hard with focus.
Also, make sure to work on your overall skills which mean that you should be shooting, juggling, dribbling, perform
different soccer moves, passing and so on.
