My name is Steve and I live in India. I have been playing soccer since the past four years. The first time I stepped on to the ground I saw the big boy’s practice for tournaments. I committed myself to play in the tournaments. The next year in grade 7 my classmate was selected in the subs. The next year I took his place and played for 5 minutes in our first soccer game of the season.
I remained on the bench for the rest of the season. I played in the inter-house soccer tournament and scored 4 goals in two games leading my team to victory and myself as second top scorer. Fame and name came to me in my neighborhood and school.
The next year I was in grade 9 and was in the first team. I scored a goal in the first match and made an assist in the same match leading to our team's 5-0 victory. In the quarter finals I scored the only goal in the last minute and lead our team to the semis.
We lost 1-0 and were eliminated. In the next tournament we won 1-0 and in the quarter finals I scored directly from the left corner with an in swinger which flew past all the heads and hit the far post and went into the goal, which left everybody stunned.
In the second half the opposition equalized and we lost in the penalties. In the next tournament due to depression of our recent failure we were eliminated in the first round.
The season came to an end. I had become a star on the ground. I am preparing to lead my team to victory in the next season. In future I aim to play for Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo is my star. Even though soccer is less played in India I believe I will make it to my dream. My past success is due to my coach and my parents and most importantly - almighty.
