Soccer Agents

by Junior
(Brixton, London, England)

What do scouts like to see in soccer players as in aspect of their play and things like that? Also, what drills would you recommend to expand on those skills.

THE ANSWER

Hello Junior, scouts or soccer agents as we prefer to call them here in Europe are interested in various skills. For example, a club may want to find a talented soccer player that is skillful at heading. So, they give the scout (or agent) a task to find this type of player.

Other clubs may look for other things like dribbling skills, speed, defensive skills etc. With other words, most clubs are looking for various types of soccer players.

When it comes to specific drills, I can’t actually point out some specific drills that will turn you into a professional soccer player. My advice would be to treat any practice or game like a cup final and do your very own best. As you may know already, soccer is world’s biggest sport and you really need to stand out of the crowd in order to succeed.

I want you also to remember that no one can say for sure whether you will become professional or not. I know a lot of players that were really skillful as youngster but now they are just average. So, the best advice I can give you is to follow the tips and advices on The Soccer Training Guide, never give up and keep on working hard.
