Soccer Ankle Injury Problems, What To Do?

by cris
(india)

Hey.
I’m 20 now. I’ve had this ankle ligament injury that keeps coming back. It’s like when I play invariably my injured ankle gets twisted again. I have taken a two months break from any kind of running but there's still a bit of pain when I try standing on one leg or walking with the full face of my feet on the ground. It really doesn’t allow me to feet while dribbling. How do I prevent it from reoccurring? Can I start with football and running now or shall I wait (for how long)?

THE ANSWER

Hello Cris, my best advice to you would be to visit an orthopedic specialist who can take a closer look at your foot. It is impossible for me to decide what kind of injury you have as I do not have proper education. Have you checked out the page about ankle injuries in soccer? Also, check the ankle sprain symptoms article as well to see whether you can spot any new symptoms that you are not aware of (yet).

Generally, ankle injuries can be hard to get rid of as there are a lot of small and sensitive bones that can be damaged during a fall or kick on the foot. So, to be on the safe side, visit an orthopedic and ask him to evaluate the injury and what you should do to get rid of it. I have wrote a book about common soccer injuries that I am giving away when you purchase my book about soccer positions. If you have few minutes over make sure to check it out.

I wish you all the best and I hope that you will be able to get rid of your injury soon and start to work toward your soccer dreams.
