Print Out and Read These Tips Before Every Soccer Game

1. Your performance without ball is equally important as the game with it. You need to know your position on the soccer field and not just run around like a lost sheep 🙂 Believe me; it is much easier to keep your position than chase the ball all time.

2. You need to encourage your teammates even when they make mistakes. Don’t criticize them as you will decrease their confidence enormously.

3. Never argue with your coach or teammates. This is one of the most important you need to know as soccer player. If you start to argue you will lose your concentration on the game and your performance will decrease greatly.

4. You should always respect your coach and listen to what he is saying. If the coach criticizes you it is not because he doesn’t like you. See the critic as constructive and work harder to improve your mistakes.

5. If you don’t know your duties and responsibilities on the soccer field don’t hesitate to ask your coach. It is better to ask a question twice then make the same mistake over and over again.

6. When you lose the ball to an opponent you should not stand still and wait for your teammates to chase him. Instead, you should start to immediately run after the opponent and try to regain possession of the ball again.

7. As a soccer player you need to work constantly on improving your skills. It is not enough to learn one skill and then consider yourself being a master on it. You need to maintain what you’ve learned by practicing hard and regularly.

8. As a soccer player you can’t just play in offensive. You have to learn how to defend too. Just because you are playing as forward or striker doesn’t mean that you should forget your duties in defense.

9. Always work hard in order to learn new soccer skills. Don’t get satisfied with the things you already know. Instead, work hard to improve them and search for new ways to develop your soccer game.

10. Analyze your performance after every game. This can be done by writing down the mistakes you’ve done. You should then try to correct these in the upcoming games.

11. Try to consume proper nutrition before your games in order to provide your body with valuable fuel. Your performance on the field will depend much on what nutrition you are consuming. Simply, poor nutrition means decreased performance.

12. Treat every practice as a cup final. This will help you to focus maximum and also take your game to a higher level.

13. Never underestimate your opponents no matter how poor they are. Keep your concentration during the whole game and never lose your focus.

14. Learn how to shoot by using your both feet. On this way it will be much more difficult to stop you.

15. Learn to pass the ball on first touch. This is crucial if you want to become professional. Simply, in pro soccer the tempo is high and being able to pass the ball on the first touch is a must.

You may find this one being too difficult especially if you are new to soccer. However, if you continue to play on this way both on practice and your matches you will pretty soon become better on it.

16. Know what to do before you even receive the ball. In professional soccer every player knows what to do with the ball before he receives it. It is therefore important to learn to think on this way while playing your games.

17. Don’t spend your time on learning some fancy cool soccer tricks. Use that time to improve your other soccer skills (shooting, passing, heading). I know that a soccer tricks will give you credits among teammates but believe me; you will not benefit from it during your games.

It is therefore better to spend your time on something more valuable. There are many people that are great at performing various soccer tricks. But, put them in a regular soccer game with high tempo and you will notice that their tricks are pretty useless.
