Soccer Moves - Learning The New Ones...

by Josh
(Plymouth)

Hi, I am a kid that plays u-14 soccer and my coach tells me I need a new move to get around kids when taking the ball down the field. So do you think you can help me? Thanks!

THE ANSWER

Hello, I don’t know what move you are using now, but there are few popular moves and some of these are: scissors, lunges, Cruyff, fake kick and Matthews. If you learn these, it will not be a problem to get around your opponents. It is possible that you already know these, if so, I recommend you to practice on them at high speed as well.

If I was you, I would first try the moves during the practice. If you are able to get around your teammates, then beating your opponents should not be so hard either. However, if they are not working during the practice, I recommend you to stay away from using them in the games as you will usually lose the ball to your opponents.
