I grew up in an environment that playing sports is a waste of time, especially for girls. So I never got to do any sports. Recently I watched the super exciting women's soccer world cup and decided I want to play soccer. But I've only passed around the soccer ball in gym class several times and have never really played soccer.
What should I do? I guess it's too late for me to become a professional soccer player. (btw, it really hurts knowing something may never happen for me.) But I want to do something with this passion. How should I start? I've done kungfu for two and half years with decent coordination. I've practiced myself by watching how to play soccer videos. What should I do next?
Thanks a lot for reading through it!

No, i don't think it's too late for you to be successful at soccer, although experience would help, since soccer is a very very competitive sport no matter where you are in the world... but you seem to be a hard worker and you do know the work that has to be put inorder to play a proffesional sport, so i think you'll do good :) and yes defense would prolly be the best position for you since you're BIG for a soccer player.... center forward as well would be good, but that requires tons of skill. I am personally 19 at the moment, I play soccer casually right now since I am busy with school, I will prolly take soccer seriously when I graduate which would be when I am 23 :)

Cut off age for development is 25 by: Andrew
If you're 24 you still have a chance to develop skills, and pace. Yes a college graduate can play soccer professionally. There are many in the BPL that have degrees. So go for your dream.
