The Power of Toe-Kick in Soccer

by Joe
(Alabama)

When you hear the word toe- kick you probably think of someone who has recently started to play soccer or at least have very poor soccer skills. But, this is completely nonsense as I’ve scored a lot of goals with this kick and I would like to say that if you find yourself inside the penalty box with opponents that are diving to the left and right in order to stop you from scoring, a toe kick would be your best option.

If you watch professional soccer on TV or LIVE you’ve probably noticed how pro’s often like to fire a toe kick in situations where they are put under high pressure (e.g two opponents covering them, short of time to set up the ball for an instep or inside kick etc.) I often hear people new to soccer claim that shooting with toe-kick is amateurish and not appropriate; yet, these people rarely score any goals.

One player that inspired me to practice on the toe-kick is the Brazilian former striker Romario. If you study his goals on YouTube you’ll notice that he’s actually using the toe-kick frequently and also score a lot of times. So, if Romario (who was one of the best strikers ever) can use this toe-kick so often then so can you.

So, if you want to become a world class striker then you need to score goals. It doesn’t matter how you do it, just make sure to get the ball past the keeper. Good luck and see you on the field, hehe :-)
