Tips For Left or Right Defender

If you are playing in the left defense you have to try to stop your opponent from getting past you. This is very crucial as you don’t want him to get a clear and comfortable shooting angle. However, if he still manage to dribble around you it is very important to run after and disturb him during the shooting moment.

This way of defending is very useful because sometimes you will not be able to stop your opponent from firing the shoot. However, you will still be able to stress him and hopefully force him to miss the whole goal because you will stress him to shoot under pressure, which is very difficult.

If the opposing team is awarded with a free kick, you should try to place yourself in the wall and make yourself big as possible. However, one thing you should keep in mind is to not turn your back during the shooting moment because your opponents may trick you with a fake shoot and pass the ball to a near standing player who will have a clear shooting angle.

So, these are the tips that I use when playing as left or right defender and I hope that you’ll find them valuable.

/Enjoy, Freddie
