Getting Ready For The Training Camp

Whether you are planning to participate in a holiday training camp, a 7 days camp or even a month long camp you need to plan some things in order to benefit maximum from it.

In this part I will present some general measurements you can take in order to prepare maximum.

You will have many different camps to choose from and choosing one that fit your needs can be pretty overwhelming.

However, there are some things that should help you decide whether a camp fits your needs or not. Some of these are:

  • The Price
  • The reputation of the camp
  • The level (beginner, intermediate, advanced)
  • The duration (two, seven or 30 days)

Being nervous is pretty normal. However, you should avoid worrying about how good the other camp mates are.

Instead, focus on performing well and learning valuable things. Tell yourself that you are interested in increasing your own skills and not how good your camp mates are.

One good way to benefit maximum from your soccer camp is to create a plan. You may use following strategy in order to identify what you want to achieve with your camp trip. Sit down and bring a note block.

Write down your weak sides and pick up 3 of them that you want to focus on during the camp. When you arrive to the camp ask your camp coach if he can help you with these things and tell him also that you really want to develop them.

Other strategy you can use is to simply focus 100% on performing maximum during every session. Don’t stand and discuss non-related soccer topics with your new friends.

Instead, tell yourself that you should focus on increasing your soccer skills. However, some players prefer to visit a soccer camp only for meeting new friends. If this is the case with you then you should not care about things mentioned in this guide.

However, I don’t think that you would read this article if you were only going to a camp in order to meet new friends. I think that your soccer goals are pretty big and that you are really serious with your soccer career.

I hope that you have found advices valuable and that they will help you with your soccer camp visit. Good Luck and remember also to have fun (between your soccer sessions of course. 🙂
