Turn & Burn Soccer Drill

This is a drill which involves two players. One has their back turned to the other (player #1). The player facing the others back is the one holding the ball (player #2). Player 1 turns around within a few seconds player 2 throws the ball on either side of player 1; player 1 then takes the ball and bolts with it towards the goal.
You can use this drill as a part of your fitness practice. It is focused on improving your player’s reaction time and endurance. You can also add more difficulty to this drill by increasing the tempo of it. However, just keep in mind that you should not focus too much on the fitness aspect when the players are young as it is more crucial to practice as much as possible with the ball involved.
