Way out of shape and brand new to the game

by araceli

I'm 27, F, overweight and obviously, way out of shape. Never played nor seen a whole actual soccer game. I want to lose weight, get fit, learn a sport while doing it and soccer is my first choice. So where do i go from here? What type of training do i need to do? I'm 101% brand new to this and any type of advice would help. You're site is amazing by the way. Thanks

ANSWER

The first thing you can start with is to join a soccer club. There should be several amateur soccer teams that you can join without any requirments on your skills. Second thing is to start practicing. I understand that your main goal is to lose weight.

So, I would recommend you to first read information on the nutrition page and study the articles properly. However, you need to be prepare on that you will need to practice hard but in my opinion your first goal should be to learn what to eat.

A female active women should eat about 2300-2400 calories per day. This means that you need to be under this amount in order to lose weight. Two pounds = 7000 calories and you should be able to reach this number every two weeks. Good Luck with your training and I hope that you found this post valuable.
