Building a Soccer Field is Not Hard

Soccer games demand better turf quality than about and on field sport. When the field goes bad, the team and the whole game goes bad.

For starters you have to know what is going on with the turf before you can make any decisions about how to take care of it.

Soil Test

One thing you may need to do first before anything else is a soil test. The results of the soil test will help you understand the nutrient values.

Knowing that, you will know how much fertilizer and what kind of fertilizer your field is required to have.

For help with your soil testing you may call a local county extension agent and ask them to walk through the steps and help you find a lab for the test for only a few dollars at maximum.

Dimensions

The first step in building a soccer pitchy is to set up the dimensions. By that I mean the soccer field must be rectangular like any other field.

In the length, the field may not be any longer than one hundred and thirty yards but may not be any shorter than one hundred yards.

Breadth meaning width should not be more than one hundred yards and no less than fifty yards. And all soccer field cases the length must stay cooperative with the width.

Lines

Once you have set up your field you need to create lines that are very distinct. Keep in mind that the lines should not be any more than five inches in width.

The longest lines are considered the touchlines and the shortest lines are considered the lines of goal.

A post marked with a flag must not have more of less than five feet high with a top that is not pointed.

A line that is half way of the soccer field is to be marked out across the field of play.

The center of the playing field should be marked by a complete mark of a complete circle with a 10 yards length around it.

For the goal area, which you may find at each end of the soccer field, two lines should be drawn complete right angles of the goal line and from each post it should be of 6 yards only.

Lines should extend throughout the field for a distance of 6 yards and should be joined by a line that is in the process of being parallel with the line of goal.

Those lines are to be extended into the field for an 18 yard distance and should be joined by a drawn parallel line with the line of goals also.

And for the penalty area you will hear the distinct set up that is confusing but easy.

A mark may be made within each penalty area, being of 12 yards from the midpoint of the line of goal, along with a drawn line at angles to the right.

These are to be called the marking of penalty kicks. From each mark of penalty kicks not a circle but an arc of circles to be painted having a length of 10 yards, should be drawn outside the penalty area.

From each corner flag post a quarter circle, having a length of 1 yard, should be drawn inside the field of play, this will be called the corner area.

Goals

The goals shall be placed on the center of each goal line and must have two posts in the upright position.

Summary

As with any other soccer skill you’ll need a lot of practice and hard work to build a nice looking soccer pitch.

So, if you don’t get it right first time, don’t give up! Instead, start over and try to make it better!
