Skills That Will Give You Great Benefits on The Pitch

When talking about training skills there is one simple rule you should keep in mind.

Simply put, the better your teammates are the more soccer skills you will need to master.

Before you join a soccer team you should first visit a practice and spy on your new teammates.

There is no point joining a soccer team if you don’t have equal skills as the other players.

Being honest about your skills is the key to your happiness on the soccer field. I am not saying this because I want to lower your confidence.

The thing is that you need to realize that without equal skills you will have pretty hard time performing at practice sessions.

Your Time on the Pitch

This will also affect your time on the field as your coach will be forced to leave you out of the field and let some other player take your place.

I know by experience that being left out of the team is the worst thing you can experience as a soccer player.

When I was 16 years old, I joined a soccer team that was far too competitive. The players were pretty skillful and I remember how badly I felt because all these players were so much better than I was.

Making Hard Decisions

However, after one season I realized that I will never play regularly for that team and I decided to change to another team.

After joining my new team I felt directly that the other players were on the same level as I was and after only few practices I was officially called up for a regular soccer game.

To become a good soccer player it you need to also play regularly in the soccer league and explore different game situations.

So, You Want to Become a Pro?

If you want to become professional you need to perform well during your soccer games. No soccer agent in the world will draft you before they’ve seen how you are performing in a real soccer game.

This is why you need to have equal skills as your other teammates. Simply put, without equal skills, you will not play regularly.

And as you already know, without playing regularly your chances for becoming a professional soccer player will decrease greatly.

Summary

So, if you feel that your game time is far too short, listen to my advice and change to another team immediately.

It doesn’t matter if the other team is several levels under your current one.

The important thing is to increase your game time and your chances of being discovered by soccer agents. It’s all about strategy, you know!
